Well, for one, it is the most scenic ice formations you will ever see anywhere in the world - and yeah, they are more beautiful than those in Antarctica and more majestic than those found in Canada's Newfoundland and Labrador Province.

Below are some of the activities you can engage in when in Patagonia.

1. View the Penguins

You can visit the Penguins in the Punta Tombo, a peninsula in Chubut Province, Argentina; or you can go to the Chilean Magellan Strait. Both places boast enough Magellanic Penguins to take photos with and post the pictures to your Facebook Timeline...trust me; your friends will be 'green with envy'.

2. Watch the Whales

How would you love to see the whales without having to travel to the Antarctica? Well, the place to do this in Patagonia is the Puerto Madryn from June to Mid-December.

3. Enjoy some Outdoors Fun

For those outdoorsy fans, you will have your ultimate partner in the El Chaltén and its surrounding mountains. They are ideal for hiking, rock climbing and horseback riding. You can celebrate your initiation into Southern America with a barbecue at the pretty valley of Río de las Vueltas.

4. Hiking at Laguna Torre

This is another popular place to take a hike and burn those calories that you have been accumulating through years of good living. The hostile weather will work your metabolic system to its limit.

5. Go Kayaking

With scenic coastlines, majestic fjords and flowing rivers, Patagonia is one of the 5 top places to kayak in the world. It will be a mistake not to try your hand at kayaking in these ice-cold waters.

6. Enjoy the views of Ushuaia

This is the most southern city in the world and it is located in the Tierra del Fuego. It also happens to be the island's capital. Here you can get to visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park, Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and the City Museu.

If you are yet to visit the Patagonia, does it feature on your bucket list? If it does not, then you will be missing one of the most beautiful gifts nature has given to man.
